Now with 12th Gen & newer you can just have the iDRAC send the SNMP traps to your central mgmt server & it covers everything down to failed drives, memory, etc. On the older 11th Gen servers you would install OMSA in the OS & use it for sending SNMP traps. ^ if you ever need/want to reboot the iDRAC ^ to see the current config of the iDRAC network port (see if it is set to use DHCP & if it gets an IP) ^ that might be the correct command to run on each box to enable DHCP. We're an all Dell hardware shop, and no previous admin has ever gotten iDRAC setup on any of this hardware.I'm trying to rectify that by learning about iDRAC and how to centrally monitor everything.
